End a fast with Toad in the hole

Image
Today I managed to resist the temptation to eat very well.  My total fast was in the order of 30 hours and I broke it with a home cooked Toad in the hole.  Flipping marvellous.   This morning I weighed in at 111.3 kg and felt good. During the day I drank peppermint,  lemon and ginger and blackcurrant teas. As I knew I was going to Jo's, I decided that my one meal for today should be dinner.  The day worked out well.  I have consumed approximately 1,000 calories including a couple of glass of prosseco.

Day one...or two...I'm not sure

I guess yesterday was day one technically but this morning I weighed myself and set a goal to get down to 95 kg by July 2024, 112 kg.currently. That's 17st 9lb in old money. That makes today day one of the weight loss project if nothing else.  To start the process,  I have opted for lunch as my one meal of  the day.  I must say that even just having 24 hours of not cramming food in has made me feel better.   For lunch today I grabbed some bacon, sausage and mushrooms left over from breakfast.   I then had a banana and tangerine for an afternoon snack. Not quite Omad, more of a 20:4, but I thought gently getting myself ready for Omad might sensible.   Tonight I have not eaten anything but I did make a milk shake using coconut milk drink and nesquik chocolate power which was surprisingly pleasant.   I looked up all the calorie values using the Lifesum app and my total calorie intake today was 900. Not that I'm a calor...

Today's Eating

Image
I started the day with the intention of only having one meal. I didn't quite manage that but I did only have a small lunch of soup and a half cheese baguette. No breakfast or any cakes. At home I had a lamb curry with some rice. The curry was an experiment in which I made my own combination of spices. It was OK if a little bit "muddy". Like the coffee,  I need to experiment a bit more with the ratios.  Overall I am pleased to have eaten moderately and I certainly feel less bloated this evening.  In fact I thought my trousers were easier to do up today indicating less bloating. On closer inspection it became evident that the rear seam of the waistband had split.  Ah well. Early days, early days.

I'm 61, overweight and beginning to suffer from all that 61 years of wear brings. .

Last night, just before the clocks went back, I wrote in my journal: Entry #6 - 28/10/2023 So it's been a while since I wrote a journal entry but it's time to start taking stock again. Healthwise I feel bad. Fat, bloated, joint pain, indegestion and generally uncomfortable. I have trouble putting m y socks and shoes on as my spare tyres prevent me from breathing and bending at the same time!! Decided tonight that I have to do something about it so here is my plan Diet- I'm going to try one meal a day for a bit. I will weigh myself tomorrow and will only eat tomorrow night. I have a curry that I cooked today so tomorrow night is good. From then on I'm only going to eat at lunchtime.   Exercise - I feel like I want to run but my neck worries me so walking is going to be the best thing. This probably means getting up at 6 am to walk in the morning with Pip abs then an evening walk to take my mind off eating.  Strength - I'm going to work on leg, arm and core strength w...
